STATEMENT OF FAITH

(i)                 SCRIPTURE INSIPIRATION

Both Old and New Testament scriptures are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct (2Timothy 3:15 – 17; 1Thessalonians 2:12; 2peter 1:21).

(ii)               THE ONE TRUE GOD

The Godhead consists of three persons in one: The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. These are separate and distinct persons, possessing separate, distinct and reorganized personalities and qualities, perfectly united in one, and are not to be thought of, in any case, as merely three names for one person.

In Mathew 3:16-17, we read of the cooperation of the three persons of the Godhead (See 2 Corinthians 3:14; Mathew 28:19, 20)

(iii)             THE DEITY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and as such, shares in the Divinity and Deity of God. (Mathew 1:23; John 5:22; 23:2; John 3; Hebrews 1:1-13).

(iv)             ORIGINAL SIN AND THE FALL OF MEN

A man was created good (Ecclesiastes 7:29) for God said “let us make man in our own image, after our likeness” (Genesis 1:26, 27). The first man Adam through disobedience fell from the grace of God and thus sin entered into the world and death by sin.  Adam’s transgression did not only bring physical death for man but also spiritual death which is termed as eternal separation from God (Genesis 2:17; 3:6-24) man can be changed from such a sinful life by receiving Jesus Christ as the Lord of his life (John 3:16).

(v)               THE SALVATION OF MAN

Man’s only hope of salvation from the power of sin is through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12; Romans 5:8-13; 10:9) this is attained to by grace trough faith and not by our efforts or by what we do (Titus3: 5; Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 2:8).

(vi)             REPENTANCE AND RESTITUTION:

Repentance is Godly sorrow for sin and totally turning away (Isaiah 55:7; Acts 3:19). Restitution is the straightening of matters between a Christian and a fellow neighbour. This includes the restoration of character, paying back of debts and the taking back of stolen property that you have at the time of your conversion (Ezekiel 33:15).

(vii)           SANCTIFICATION:

It is the away of God’s grace by which we can be made holy. “Sanctification” means “Holy and set apart for God’s use.”  (John 17:15-17; 2 Corinthians 7:1;

1 Peter 1:15-16; 2 Corinthians 6:14-17; 1 Kings 18:21; Joshua 24:14-15;

1 Thessalonians 4:3; Hebrews 12:14).

(viii)         (a)   BAPTISM IN WATER

The ordinance of baptism by immersion in water is commanded in the scriptures. All who repent of their sins and believes in Christ as savior and lord are to be baptized. This is a declaration to the world that they identify with Christ in his death and have been raised with him in newness of life (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10: 47-48; Romans 6:4)

(b)    THE LORD’S SUPPER OR HOLY COMMUNION

The Lord’s supper consisting of the element of bread and the cup of the fruit of the vine is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:4), a memorial of his suffering and death (I Corinthians 11:26), and a prophecy of his second coming (I Corinthians 11:26), and is enjoined on all believers “till He comes”

(ix)             THE CHURCH AND ITS MISSION

The church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Holy Spirit with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer, born of the spirit, is an integral part of the general assembly and the church of the first born, which was written in heaven (Ephesians 1; 22, 23; 2:22, Hebrews 12:23).

Since God’s purpose concerning man is to seek and save that which is lost to be worshiped by man, and to build a body of believers in the church is

a)     To be an agency of God for evangelizing the world (Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16).

b)     To be a corporate body in which man may worship God (Corinthians 12: 13).

c)      To be a channel of God’s purpose to build a body of saints being perfected in the image of his son (Ephesians 4: 11-16; 1Corinthians 12:28; 14:12).
